Acts 15:19-20: "Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them which from among the gentiles (Akweya) are turned to God. But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollution of idols, and from fornication and from things strangled, and from blood."

This conclusion was reached after some
preachers came and started preaching to the already saved gentiles that unless they adopt the Jewish believers' ways of doing things and get circumcised, they are not truly saved or born again.

But the conclusion arrived at by the Apostles and the Holy Spirit shows that, that is not necessary. All that God want is for us to use our natural and traditional ways of doing things to glorify Him. This is called transposed transformation.

Many of our elderly men and young men at home do not attend any church, because in Akweya land, the way we sing, dance and play instrument in our masquerade group like Ikpachukwu, egrese, ogbomgbom, ikyente, ohunma, nnjokwo ete is sweeter and more touching than the way we sing and dance in our Churches at home.

I have been to some of these masquerade shrine or embe, and I see how the young men are so moved shouting with high excitement. I saw somebody that was touched that he was crying.

You will hardly see this passion in our churches, because we think that the Church way of singing and dancing have to be different or holy. Some western foreign music instruments don't have the capacity to move the natives. And that's what some of the local churches bring in.

Like in Acts15:1, we have preachers who are actually troublers of gentile converts. Whenever the traditional native people see these preachers coming, they are scared because, they already know what they are coming to preach to them, you are coming to tell them not to do second burial again, not to participate in age group meeting again, not to dance in the masquerade group again and not even to agree to be greeted by his or her clan greeting title again.
